Gravel Cycling through the National Forest and our Industrial Heartland
** Routes are DRAFT, seeking enthusiastic riders to try any of them out and let us know what you think **
If you haven’t yet experienced the gravel riding available in our industrial heartland then you have certainly been missing out. The canals linking the coalfields within the working landscapes of the forest tell a fascinating story about our history.
More recently the development of the National Forest combined with the outstanding beauty of Cannock Chase makes this one of the most varied and interesting places to ride in the UK.
Ride past current and former sites of our industrial heritage, forest canopies, cultural installations and outstanding cafes, to make a fantastic day out.
Take up the challenge of the full Coal and Canopy Way or pick one of the shorter loops to ride in a single day.
