Gravel Cycling through the National Forest and our Industrial Heartland

The Coal and Canopy Way is a 250km off-road cycling route developed in partnership between local riders, The National Forest and the National Trust. The route winds through areas of industrial heritage, outstanding natural beauty and cultural installations across the Midlands.

There are a range of routes to choose from depending on rider ability and time available. The main Coal and Canopy Way is designed as a 2-5 day bike packing adventure whilst the other routes are designed primarily as day outings with easy accessibility and parking.
